Aligndar is an iPhone and iPad calendar app for viewing personal and shared calendars, comparing availability, proposing meeting times, and confirming plans through group polls. This policy explains how the Aligndar iOS app and its services process personal information and calendar data.
Information We Process
- Account identifiers, the email address and name supplied through Apple or Google sign-in, and the display name entered by the user
- If Google sign-in is selected, account identifiers and an IP-derived approximate location that Google may process for login security and fraud prevention
- Shared calendars and groups, invitation state, time zone, and busy time intervals
- For calendar sources a user explicitly enables in a content-sharing group: event title, start and end time, all-day status, and location
- If Google Calendar is connected: OAuth credentials, connection status, selected calendars, FreeBusy responses, and calendar writeback results
- If push notifications are enabled: installation identifier, device token, and notification preferences
Sharing Calendar Content
In availability-only groups, Aligndar does not send personal event titles or locations to the server. Calendar-source sharing is also off by default in content-sharing groups. Only the title and location from a source a user explicitly enables are shared with members of that group.
Attendees, organizers, meeting links, notes, attachments, recurrence rules, and raw calendar or event identifiers are not transmitted.
Shared titles and locations are validated in transit and stored in the server database as AES-256-GCM ciphertext. This is not end-to-end encryption. An operator with both the runtime secret and service authorization can decrypt this content.
Purpose and Retention
Aligndar uses this information to calculate mutual availability, propose and vote on meeting times, confirm group events, share user-selected event details, write confirmed plans to calendars, and deliver notifications.
The shared-event mirror is a derived cache covering seven days before today through 60 days after today; the source event remains in Apple Calendar or Google Calendar. Related mirror data is withdrawn when source sharing is disabled, a group changes to a more private mode, a member leaves, or an account or group is deleted. It becomes eligible for expiration 30 days after the event starts. Google OAuth credentials are encrypted with AES-256-GCM and stored in a private server store.
Service Providers
Aligndar uses Apple, Google Sign-In, Google Calendar API, Supabase, and Vercel. Their security and privacy terms also apply. Google sign-in and Google Calendar connection use separate consent and credential flows.
The Google Sign-In SDK privacy declaration includes name, email address, phone number, approximate location and account identifiers for sign-in functionality, plus account and device identifiers and other usage data for Google service analytics. Aligndar requests only name, email, and profile scopes during standard sign-in and does not directly collect a phone number.
Use and transfer of information received from Google Workspace APIs comply with the Limited Use requirements in the Google API Services User Data Policy. See Google Sign-In App Privacy and the Google Privacy Policy for more information.
Choices, Revocation, and Deletion
Calendar and notification permissions can be withdrawn in iOS Settings. Disabling a calendar source in Aligndar withdraws its shared mirror for that group. Disconnecting Google Calendar discards the stored credential and stops synchronization.
You can request account deletion from Profile > Account Settings in the app. The deletion process removes the authentication account, memberships, connected credentials, and device tokens.
Tracking and Advertising
Aligndar does not combine collected information with data from other companies’ apps or websites for targeted advertising or ad measurement, and does not provide it to data brokers. The app does not use advertising SDKs or user tracking features.
