Effective date and operator
Effective November 4, 2026. This policy covers beacon: pick, sort & archive, operated by Seongjae Kim (김성재), The Jelly Office. Contact hello@thejellyoffice.com about privacy or support.
Photo access and on-device processing
With your permission, Beacon reads photos, videos, thumbnails, and available library metadata such as dates, photo locations, and album information to browse, analyse, pick, and organise your library. Colour analysis and organisation data are processed on your device. We do not operate a server that receives your photo library, photo locations, or analysis results. Your permission determines which photos the app can access.
Local storage and changes
The app stores indexes, previews, preferences, local collections, and work-in-progress data in its local app storage. Changes to Apple Photos are requested through Apple's photo-library interfaces and the app's confirmation flow. Local app data is retained while needed to provide these features, until you remove it or uninstall the app subject to iOS and backup behaviour. Copies already exported to Apple Photos or shared elsewhere are managed separately.
Apple services
If you allow Location access, Beacon makes on-demand, one-shot location requests for the initial globe view and navigation to your current area. This permission is optional; the app does not perform background location tracking. Photo locations already stored in your library are separate from device Location permission.
Apple Photos may download originals from iCloud. Maps and place-name lookup use Apple services and may send the coordinates being queried to Apple. Apple handles App Store payments; the app checks purchase status using Apple's purchase services. We do not receive payment card or bank account details from these purchases. Device backups, iCloud, and Apple's services are governed by Apple's privacy policy.
Google SDK data processing
Beacon does not require an account. The app uses Google AdMob and Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP). The SDKs may send Google and its advertising partners an IP address and approximate location inferred from it, device or advertising identifiers, ads viewed, app and ad interactions, crash reports, performance information, and other diagnostics. These are used for advertising delivery and measurement, analytics, fraud prevention, service operation, and improvement. Some information may be associated with a device. Google and its partners may process it outside your country and retain it under their policies. See Google's privacy policy and how Google uses information from apps.
The app requests non-personalised ads and disables Google's publisher first-party ID. This does not stop all SDK data collection or storage. Beacon does not add photo originals, library photo identifiers, or precise photo/device locations to advertising requests. App session identifiers and work status are stored on your device.
Advertising privacy choices
Where required, the app presents a regional consent message. When available, open Settings → Ad privacy choices to review or change your choice. You can also change tracking permission in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Allowing tracking is optional; you can browse, pick and organise photos without it. Consent choices and legal requirements may affect SDK data processing. This policy does not replace any consent required by your region or device settings.
Support messages and website visits
If you contact us, we receive the email address, message, and attachments you choose to send and use them to answer your request. We retain support information only as long as needed to resolve the request or meet legal retention obligations. Email is delivered using Cloudflare Email Routing and Google's email services, which may process information outside your country. This website uses Cloudflare hosting. See the website privacy notice, Google's privacy policy, and Cloudflare's privacy policy. We do not sell support messages or add them to advertising profiles.
Your choices and requests
Change photo access in iOS Settings. Manage your originals and exported albums in Apple Photos. Remove the app's local data by uninstalling the app, and review device or iCloud backups separately. We cannot remotely inspect or delete data stored only on your device. To request access, correction, or deletion of information you sent to support, email the address above. You may exercise the privacy rights available under applicable law; we may need information sufficient to verify your request.
Policy changes
We will publish material changes here and provide an in-app notice or consent flow where required before a new practice starts. The current version's practices and the version actually submitted to the App Store determine its disclosures.
