Browse photos by place or color, pick your favorites, and sort your screenshots. Choose a guide below to get started.
Browse photos on the map
- Open the background picker and choose Map or Satellite.
- Drag to another area or pinch to zoom. Tap a photo marker to open the photos taken there.
- Tap a thumbnail to view it, then swipe through the photos in that group.
Narrow things down by date
- Move the date ruler at the top of the background to choose a year.
- Press and hold the ruler to reveal months, then move to the month you want.
- Tap the period title to return to all dates. You can use the same date controls on the map and color backgrounds.
Browse photos by color
- In the background picker, choose Color Sphere or Color Palette.
- Rotate the sphere or move around the palette to explore different colors. Pinch to zoom, then tap a photo marker to open photos with similar tones.
- For a list of color groups, open Collections → Colors. The more menu lets you switch between detailed tones and basic color groups.
Explore place and color collections
- Open Collections, then choose Places or Colors.
- Tap a collection to browse its photos. Use the date and filter controls to narrow the list.
- In the Places more menu, choose whether to group photos by district or city. In Colors, choose detailed tones or basic color groups.
Pick photos for an album
- Open Organize → Photo Picking. Choose a suggested moment, a date group, a place or a color. Use Choose yourself to choose your own starting photos.
- Open the photo group and continue to picking settings. Choose the order, selection limit and number of stages, then start.
- Swipe each photo toward Select or Don't Select, following the labels around the card. You can also tap a choice. Undo takes back the last decision.
- With multiple stages, only the photos you selected move to the next round. Use Group consecutive photos to handle a burst together.
- When you're done, tap Create Album, choose an existing album or make a new one, then give it a name. Use the album's Send to Photos action when you want it in the Apple Photos app too.
Swipe through screenshots
- Open Organize → Screenshot Cleanup and choose the screenshots to review.
- In cleanup settings, choose how many to review and whether to start with the newest or oldest.
- Tap Add Category to choose or create destination albums. Drag an album onto the circular guide to put it in the direction that feels right.
- Start, then swipe each screenshot toward Keep, Waiting to delete or one of your albums. You can tap these choices too. Use Skip to leave a screenshot for another session.
- Use Undo to change the last decision. When you're done, finish with the action shown on the results screen.
Handle consecutive screenshots together
- Before starting cleanup, turn on Organize capture groups together.
- Screenshots taken close together appear as one group. Browse the images in the group before choosing an action.
- Keep, deletion, album sorting and Skip apply to the whole group. To sort the screenshots individually, leave grouping off when starting the session.
- To revisit screenshots you previously kept, turn on Include Kept Screenshots in cleanup settings.
Arrange your albums
- Open an album in My Albums. Use its more menu to add photos, change the name, cover or icon, or rearrange its photos.
- Use Folder in the same menu to place the album in a folder.
- Tap Send to Photos to save it in Apple Photos. If an album with the same name exists, choose whether to add to it or create a separate album.
